If you want to follow live sports scores without constantly refreshing a website, LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is one of the most established sports score apps available today. It brings live results, fixtures, match information, sports news, notifications, statistics, and competition coverage into one mobile app.
For football fans, the app covers major competitions such as the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Eredivisie, and more. It also supports cricket, tennis, basketball, hockey, American football, and horse racing. The official LiveScore website confirms coverage across football and several other major sports, while its cricket section specifically includes Test, ODI, and Twenty20 competitions.
The current Google Play listing shows that LiveScore: Live Sports Scores has more than 50 million downloads, around 594,000 reviews, and a 4.5-star rating. The app was updated on September 25, 2026, with the latest update focused on background fixes and improvements.
But what makes LiveScore useful in 2026? Can it help you follow T20 cricket live scores, football results, match alerts, and other sports? Is it worth downloading?
Let’s take a detailed look.
What Is LiveScore: Live Sports Scores?
LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is a sports results and information app developed by LiveScore Limited.
Its main purpose is simple: give sports fans fast access to live scores, match results, fixtures, statistics, news, and notifications.
The app is particularly well known for football coverage. However, it is not limited to football.
LiveScore says it has been delivering real-time sports scores and data since 1998 and currently specializes in football, tennis, cricket, basketball, and hockey.
That makes the app useful for someone who follows several sports instead of relying on separate apps for every competition.
You can select your favorite teams, leagues, competitions, and matches and then customize the information you want to receive.
LiveScore Latest Update 2026
If you are searching for the LiveScore latest update or LiveScore latest version, the official Google Play listing is the best place to check the current Android release.
The current listing shows that LiveScore: Live Sports Scores was updated on September 25, 2026. The latest “What’s new” information says the update includes background fixes designed to provide a better experience.
Although the update notes are brief, regular updates are important for a live sports application.
A score app needs to remain stable while handling frequent notifications, match data, fixtures, statistics, and other real-time information.
LiveScore also continues to publish new football content and sports features through its official platform. Its newsroom currently includes 2026 football news, World Cup coverage, transfer stories, and other sports content.
Therefore, users who already have the app installed should keep automatic updates enabled or check Google Play regularly for a newer version.
Live Sports Scores in Real Time
The main reason people download LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is, of course, live scores.
The app is designed to keep users informed about matches as they happen.
Instead of repeatedly searching Google for a result, you can open LiveScore and see ongoing matches in one place.
This is particularly useful when several games are being played at the same time.
For football, users can follow goals, match results, fixtures, and other match information. The app also supports notifications for important match events.
LiveScore’s support documentation explains that football notifications can include goals, goalscorers, assists, match starts and ends, penalties, confirmed line-ups, red cards, yellow cards, substitutions, corners, reminders, highlights, and match reports.
That makes the app useful even when you cannot watch the match.
Live Cricket Scores and T20 Sports
For users searching for T20 sports live, cricket is one of the most important parts of the LiveScore experience.
LiveScore’s official cricket section covers live cricket scores, fixtures, results, and tables across different formats. This includes Twenty20 cricket, international competitions, the Cricket World Cup, T20 World Cup, Indian Premier League, and Australia’s Big Bash League.
This means cricket fans can use the app to follow more than just football.
You can check the current score, follow fixtures, and stay updated about cricket competitions without constantly refreshing a browser page.
The notification system also supports cricket-specific events.
According to LiveScore’s support information, cricket alerts can include match starts and ends, session ends, fall of wickets, toss results, boundaries, confirmed teams, and match reminders.
For fans who follow T20 cricket, these alerts can be particularly helpful because matches can change quickly.
Is LiveScore a T20 Live Streaming App?
This is an important distinction.
LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is primarily a scores, results, fixtures, statistics, news, and notification service. It should not be confused with a dedicated live-TV streaming application.
If you search for T20 sports live, you may want to watch a match rather than simply follow its score.
LiveScore is primarily useful for keeping track of the match data and results. Whether a particular match has viewing options depends on the relevant rights and services available in your region.
So, if your main goal is live T20 scores, LiveScore is highly relevant. If your goal is full live video streaming, you should check the official broadcaster or streaming service for your competition.
Football Scores and Match Results
Football remains one of the strongest areas of LiveScore: Live Sports Scores.
The official app listing highlights major competitions including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Eredivisie, Serie A, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Primeira Liga, and other competitions.
LiveScore’s official website also provides coverage for domestic leagues, European competitions, international tournaments, and major cups.
This is useful for fans who follow football throughout the season.
You can check today’s fixtures, follow matches that are currently live, see final results, and keep up with competition tables.
The app also offers football news and personalized content, so you do not have to use it only when a match is underway.
Live Notifications
Notifications are one of the most useful features of the app.
You do not need to repeatedly open LiveScore just to see whether your favorite team has scored.
You can configure alerts based on the sports and events you care about.
For example, football users can select goal alerts, line-up announcements, cards, penalties, substitutions, match reminders, and other events. Cricket users can choose alerts related to wickets, boundaries, toss results, and match status.
This level of customization is useful because not everyone wants every notification.
If you follow multiple teams, leagues, or sports, customized notifications can reduce unnecessary alerts while keeping the most important updates available.
Follow Your Favorite Teams and Leagues
Another useful feature is personalization.
Instead of browsing through every competition, you can select favorite teams and leagues and access their scores and news more easily.
The Google Play listing describes a personalized football experience where users can follow the teams and competitions that matter to them.
This is especially useful during busy sports periods.
For example, a football fan may follow a Premier League club, Champions League matches, and an international team at the same time.
A cricket fan may instead focus on T20 competitions, international matches, and a favorite national team.
The app can then make those interests easier to access.
Football News and Transfer Updates
LiveScore is not only a score tracker.
The app also provides football news, headlines, transfer information, previews, and post-match content.
Its Google Play description highlights football news, player transfers, previews, post-match reviews, football statistics, and upcoming fixtures.
The official LiveScore newsroom also continues to publish current football stories, including Premier League coverage, transfer-related stories, World Cup content, and fan features.
This gives the app additional value for users who want both scores and news.
Instead of checking one application for results and another for football headlines, you can use LiveScore for both.
Other Sports on LiveScore
Although football is a major focus, LiveScore: Live Sports Scores supports several other sports.
The Google Play listing specifically mentions:
- Football
- Cricket
- Tennis
- Basketball
- Hockey
- Horse racing
The official LiveScore platform also provides coverage across these sports.
This makes the app more versatile than a football-only score application.
Tennis fans can follow match events, while basketball and hockey fans can receive score updates.
Horse racing is also supported, with upcoming races, results, and additional race information.
Match Fixtures and Results
Live scores are only one part of sports tracking.
Knowing when a match will start is equally important.
LiveScore provides fixtures and results so users can see upcoming matches and review completed games.
This is useful when planning which matches to follow during a busy sports day.
You can also use fixtures to discover upcoming competitions instead of waiting for a match to appear in the live section.
For football fans, this can be especially helpful during weekends when dozens of matches may be scheduled across different leagues.
Live Football Statistics
Following the score is useful, but statistics can provide additional context.
LiveScore includes football match information and statistics as part of its sports coverage.
Depending on the competition and match, users can access information beyond simply seeing the final score.
This makes the app more useful for fans who want to understand what happened during a game rather than only knowing which team won.
However, the exact statistics available can vary by sport and competition.
Personalized Sports Experience
One of the biggest advantages of LiveScore is personalization.
Sports fans rarely follow every team and every competition.
Most people have specific interests.
You may care about one Premier League club, several Champions League matches, a national cricket team, and major T20 competitions.
LiveScore allows users to customize their experience around their preferred teams, competitions, and notifications.
This helps reduce the amount of information you need to search through manually.
Is LiveScore Free?
LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is available as a free Android application, although the current Google Play listing shows that it contains advertisements.
The app’s free model makes it accessible to a large audience.
Users can download it and follow sports scores without necessarily paying for a subscription.
However, advertising is part of the experience, so users who prefer completely ad-free applications may find this less appealing.
LiveScore User Experience
The biggest strength of LiveScore: Live Sports Scores is its straightforward purpose.
Open the app, select your sport, find your competition, and follow the matches that matter to you.
You do not need to understand complicated menus to find basic scores.
Personalization also makes the experience more convenient.
Instead of checking dozens of websites, you can use one application for multiple sports.
However, the amount of available information can become overwhelming if you follow too many teams and competitions.
For the best experience, select only the teams, leagues, and notifications you actually care about.
LiveScore Privacy and Data Safety
When using any sports application, it is worth checking its privacy information.
The current Google Play data-safety section says LiveScore may share certain data types with third parties and may collect location, personal information, and other data. It also states that data is encrypted in transit and that users can request deletion of their data.
These disclosures are provided by the developer and can vary depending on factors such as region, age, and how the application is used.
Users should review LiveScore’s current privacy policy and Google Play data-safety information before deciding which permissions to provide.

However, cricket fans should not overlook the app.
LiveScore provides live cricket scores and covers Test, ODI, and Twenty20 cricket, along with major competitions such as the T20 World Cup, IPL, and Big Bash League.
